1. The Foreknowledge Fiona. The Foreknowledge Fiona has vast stores of intuition that are never wrong. She just knows to hide information from somebody who’ll turn out to be a bad guy later on. The giant monster’s weak spot is easily guessable for her. All of the author’s…

Okay here it is! So painting tips! I’m no pro, but this are just some things that I’ve learned that might help you guys out! It was very hard for me to get used to painting, but I was determined to do it and it took a while, so please don’t be discouraged!!
The main reason why it was hard, is because I treated painting just like drawing, I sketched very tightly and worked on the smallest details first. Also worked in like a thousand layers and tried to keep everything super neat. Don’t think of painting as drawing!! Think of it more like sculpting! You’re starting with a rough block of color and carving away the light and shadow of the picture, start out rough, don’t focus on details, get splotchy and sloppy and THEN clean up.
Try to get used to working in less layers!! This will force you to work from background to foreground and also will help you learn that there’s no error you can’t fix MULTIPLE times while painting
WORK BIG!! For paintings it’s much much better to work in big canvas dimensions, small resolutions will not look as good as the bigger ones do!
AVOID BLACK! Get used to defining your black, you will decide not only your darkest but your lightest value in the picture! Black can make your pictures look muddy and dirty too, when blending, so unless you’re doing a grayscale painting, stay away from it!
Something I like to do is keep my background in one layer and my whole painting in another, that way I can change the background freely without having to worry about working around my painting!
I think that’s it! I really hope this helps!!

It's a Ballpoint Pen (download link)

megan-draws-stuff:

it’s a custom ballpoint pen photoshop brush i made for myself, after a lot of trial and error. The idea was to go for a kind of look like the line quality in the paperman (and some other disney) concept art.

I’m really putting this up here for myself, after my computer crashed i lost this fir a few weeks until i could get on my old hard drive, and i realized how much i love this brush. It’s kind of my workhorse for a lot of lineart stuff, i used it for the entire #megan draws all the wheatleys project, and a lot of other stuff.

this

and this,

for example, were both done completely using this brush. I also used it for the linework in like 4 of the valentines in the set i have going around ATM.

So yeah

there you go. as long as i’m putting it on the internet i might as well share it.

Semi-realistic Eye tutorial. Hope you guys find it useful ^^

Female Adventurer: A Tutorial Masterpost

I said that I’d show some tutorials I have saved up to someone, but decided that I’d just go ahead and post most of what I have stored away and create a sort of masterpost out of it. (I figure it’ll help me just as much since, as of now, they’re all pretty scattered between my Tumblr and bookmarks)

A lot of these are hosted on my personal Tumblr, but I don’t change my url so it’s pretty safe to bookmark them there (and not have to worry about the url changing) if you don’t wish to reblog them yourself for whatever reason.
